Brian A. McMurtry DDS FAGD grew up near the beautiful and sunny beaches of Clearwater, Florida. After graduating valedictorian from Countryside High School, his college years were spent at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he earned both his Bachelor of Science in Chemistry (Biochemistry Track)(1997) and Doctor of Dental Surgery (2001).
After graduating from dental school, Dr. McMurtry entered the United States Navy, completing a General Practice Residency and serving as Dental Department Head aboard the USS WHIDBEY ISLAND (LSD 41). In 2005, after resigning his commission as a decorated veteran from the Navy, Dr. McMurtry opened his dental practice in the Mountain Island Lake area of Charlotte and has been proudly serving his patients since that time.
Dr. McMurtry was awarded the title of “Fellow” by the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) in 2009. A general dentist who is a "Fellow" in the AGD has been recognized by other general dentists as a leader and an example to other dentists of the importance of quality continuing dental education. Dr. McMurtry has also taught at UNC-Chapel Hill, where he held the position of Adjunct Assistant Professor for the Operative Department.
He is a proud supporter of the local community, often seen running around the baseball, soccer, and lacrosse fields with his wife and four boys.
Dr McMurtry and his staff are committed to providing the best possible care to their patients and look forward to seeing you and your family soon.
