Dental Insurance & Financial Information
We feel that all patients deserve from us the best dental care we can provide, and further, we feel that everyone benefits when an office policy and financial arrangements are understood.
As a condition of your treatment by this office, financial arrangements must be made in advance. The practice depends upon reimbursement from the patients for the costs incurred in their dental care, and financial responsibility on the part of each patient must be determined before treatment.
Patients with Dental Insurance
It is our pleasure to assist you by completing your dental insurance claim forms. If your dental insurance carrier is up to date, we will electronically file your dental insurance claim before the end of the treatment day. As an added courtesy, we will accept the Assignment of Benefit from your dental insurance company. This means we will collect just your estimated co-payment or co-insurance on the day of your dental treatment. Please understand that this is only an estimate and is based upon the information available to us.
Many dental insurance companies reimburse professional fees on a complicated fee averaging basis. Your dental insurance company will use average fees from a wide geographic area. They will fail to take into consideration location, training, and experience of your dentist and the dentistry they provide. This system may or may not be representative of fees in our area. Because of this, our fees may be above or below the "usual and customary" fee provided to you by your insurance company. This may have an effect on the amount of reimbursement you receive from them. This sounds confusing because it is confusing. However, our staff is experienced with dental insurance matters and can answer any questions you may have.
Please note, our fees are very competitive to other offices in town and typically fall within the usual and customary range.
Ultimately, the financial obligation for dental treatment is between you and our office. Your dental insurance company is responsible to you, and not to our office. Whatever your dental insurance company does not pay, you will be responsible for the difference.
If you have any questions regarding this, please do not hesitate to give our office a call, and we will be happy to discuss any financial matters with you.
